About the Fine Arts Department

The Art Department offers courses in the history and practice of art. In studio art, students use different media, such as charcoal, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, oils, clay, plaster, photo and computers. In art history, they gain an understanding of the meaning and purpose of the arts through historical, humanistic and cultural studies.

WCC art faculty enable students to grow as artists and designers. Whether learning how to draw with charcoal or how to use computer software, students are encouraged to explore their creative potential.

Nationally and internationally known visiting artists provide presentations of their work to supplement classroom learning.
